Many people these days are extremely health conscious and make every effort to shed down the waistline. No matter how hard you work out in the gym, if you are not eating the right food, you may not see the beneficial results. There are different types of weight loss diets and some of the few are listed below:

The Paleo diet – It strongly insists on eating the food our ancestors ate even before the agriculture came into the picture. Paleo diet believes that the modern diseases are directly linked to the consumption of dairy, grains and processed foods. This diet mainly emphasises on the intake of lean protein, whole foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds etc. This diet has shown significant weight loss results. It also reduces heart diseases like Blood Pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar etc

The Vegan Diet – As the name indicates, this diet strictly eliminates animal products like meat, dairy, eggs, honey, albumin, casein, whey, some forms of vitamin D3 etc. Vegan Diet is greatly helpful in weight loss as it involves low fat and high fibrous content to kill your hunger pranks. This diet is also beneficial in reducing cardiac diseases, type 1 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, premature death etc.

Low- Carb Diet – This is one of the most popular weight loss diets since decades. This diet involves intake of unlimited proteins and fat and limiting the intake of carbohydrates. Low carb diet has extensively helped the obese and overweight individuals to lose weight effectively. The other benefits include the reducing the heart risk factors, triglycerides, cholesterol levels and many more. However, extreme cases can result in dangerous conditions like ketoacidosis.

The Zone Diet – This diet is a low-glycemic diet which balances each meal with one-third portion of protein, two-third portions of fruits and vegetables and a dash of fat like olive oil, almonds or avocados. This diet has shown inconsistent weight loss results for different individuals. The other benefits are: it reduces type 2 diabetes; it improves blood sugar levels and risks of stroke.

The Ultra Low-fat Diet – This diet mostly includes plant-based diet and restricts the intake of fat to just 10%. It also limits the intake of animal products. This diet has shown successful weight loss results in obese individuals. It has also shown considerable results in reducing autoimmune diseases which affect the brain, optic nerves in the eyes, spinal cord etc.

Intermittent fasting – There are different ways of following this diet. The 16/8 method restricts eating period to 8 hours and fasting for 16 hours. The Eat-Stop-Eat method involves fasting once a week or twice a week. The 5:2 methods involve eating normally for 5 days and restricting the calorie intake to 500 to 600 calories on the other 2 days. The warrior diet involves eating fruits and vegetables throughout the day and one huge meal at night. Intermittent fasting is very effective in weight loss.

A diet plan which works for me might not work for you and hence, it is good to stick to a diet plan that will work for you.
